ARCHIBUS Version 17.1
New tools for dealing with complex topics and analyzing complex business data
V.17.1 contains a wealth of new applications and features, including new Service Desk and On Demand work activities in Web Central, an Overlay for Revit in ARCHIBUS for Windows, and ARCHIBUS Geospatial Extensions for ESRI that work in both environments.
But there are a few core enhancements "behind the scenes.".
These refinements speed day-to-day work and enhance individual productivity. They provide immediate access to information through the multiple Web browsers already in your organization. As a result, these refinements encourage a high-level of information-sharing among staff and departments.
Feature: Improved Help System in both Windows and Web Central
Benefit: The new Help system continues the same results-oriented content approach. Skills are streamlined for each role for quick mastery of ARCHIBUS. Application help is focused on just those steps you need to get specific business results.
But V.17.1 adds a completely updated Flare-based help interface. The result is a Help system that is easier to search and more completely compatible with US Federal 508 regulations for the disabled.
Aside from the look-and-feel, the Help system has more effective search capabilities in both the Search and Index tabs. The system also supports quoting multi-word search terms for literal searches.
Feature: View Definition Wizard

Benefit: ARCHIBUS users are powerhouses at generating information that is key to driving their entire organizations forward. The View Definition Wizard ensures that you can get all that great information out to the Web, with a step-by-step interface for defining new Web Views. Whether you need reports, summary reports and charts, or even edit forms to collect information from your users at-large, the View Definition Wizard uses a pick-and-click approach for quickly creating these new forms and place it on the Process Navigator menu for you.
Those with mixed Windows and Web deployments will enjoy knowing that the View Definition Wizard can re-form your existing Windows view files into these new Web patterns, so you can reuse your work in selecting tables and fields in Windows on the Web.
Feature: Tree Control in Web Central
Benefit: System integrators often design forms that require complex tree access. For instance, they may need to drill down organizational hierarchies to find all contained rooms and employees. Or they may need to drill down through Account Code hierarchies that have variable levels of depth.
Web Central now includes a tree control that lets you set up these complex queries just with some XML in your ARCHIBUS Web Central views. The trees are completely integrated with the ARCHIBUS view structure so you can use the trees to drill into reports, drill into edit forms, or automated, tabbed wizards -- all with no coding beyond the view XML.
