What’s New in ARCHIBUS® V.14.3

Easily Maintain and Distribute Information Across the Enterprise

The new Windows-based ARCHIBUS V.14.3 lets organizations cost-effectively grant access to users based on their specific needs and workflows. Role-based security keeps everyone’s data securely partitioned, while centralized roll-ups and reports let managers flag exceptions, monitor progress, and aggregate results.

Meanwhile, this latest version takes advantage of all the benefits of AutoCAD® 2005 for enhanced drawing management.

Key features and benefits include:

Features and Benefits

Enhanced Virtual Private ARCHIBUS (VPA):
Develop separate data repositories for each building, site, or department while simultaneously maintaining information in a centralized location to track holdings and performance across sites or organizational functions.
Control data access on a “need to know” basis and monitor facility and infrastructure status across geographic or departmental boundaries
Provide unique, easy-to-maintain environments for site-specific data

Maintain a single database of global facilities and infrastructure information;VPA Site Code ensures that users only see data relevant to their geographic area.

Process Navigator (requires AutoCAD 2005):
Integration with AutoCAD 2005 provides centrally managed, database-driven instructions to staff.
Organizational goals are seamlessly communicated to all staff members, including CAD specialists

Configurable Process Navigator:
Implement changes in minutes, in one location, then extend them to all end-users worldwide, in all environments: Web, Windows, and CAD.
Immediately reflect all application changes, such as added functionality or revised processes, on all users’ desktops
Synchronize costs, analyze results and resources, and continuously improve your processes

Customized navigation:
Easily configure the Process Navigator by business process or organization; develop a customized interface, without coding, that shows only the activities a user needs to see; reflect your own organization’s unique business processes.
Reduce users’ learning curve and let them work more productively
Cost-effectively allow users at various levels to enter and edit data, while conforming to organizational standards
Seamlessly add licensed 3rd party activities/applications while maintaining consistent navigation

A unified interface lets users access and view information, such as a highlight query, in a similar format whether they work in CAD, Windows, or the Web

Hierarchical security:
Divide security and responsibility by domain area (e.g., Real Estate, Space, Operations); by function (e.g., data entry, CAD updates, management roll-up results) or any combination of these entities.
Gain fine-grained security control over all tasks, reports, forms, tables, and fields while maintaining the ability to quickly assign broad system access to select users

Security roles definition:
Map hierarchical security groups to roles that reflect your existing data or organizational divisions.
Easily control information access based on user type; quickly grant security levels to multiple users with similar job responsibilities
Easily coordinate ARCHIBUS restrictions with SQL-level database security

One-click role assignments:
Assign a process or role, such as program access, to a staff member with a single click.
Easily define and coordinate the roles of your entire staff, including contractors and/or vendors
Enforce data security by hiding sensitive information or restricting approvals based on user log-in

Easily expand or restrict users’ privileges based on job responsibilities

Enhanced DWF format support:
Publish drawings in Autodesk’s new DWF format.
Ease workflow and provide authorized users access to enterprise data
Create a database of active graphics that drive workflows, connect different departments, synchronize management, and link remote worksites

ARCHIBUS Automatic Boundary Discover Command:
Perform searches for room designators—attributed room blocks that are typically part of the room schedule information.
Drastically reduce the time required to log a new drawing into ARCHIBUS

Table-style output:

Integration with AutoCAD 2005 lets users see enterprise data in the context of their properties, buildings, floors and rooms.
Generate reports that turn raw data into meaningful information for more informed strategic decision-making

AutoCAD 2005’s new table-style output keeps drawings cleaner and makes it easier to generate reports on information such as employee locations

ARCHIBUS V.14.3 also includes all the core features delivered in Versions 14.1
and 14.2, as listed below:

"One-click" access to Enhanced Dynamic View Analysis reports:
Quickly and easily add “one click” Navigator entries that generate pre-defined, platform-independent, view analysis reports.
Gain easy access to customized reports designed to meet specific analytical needs

Enhanced Dynamic View Analysis to XML output:
Enhanced Dynamic View Analysis is delivered in an embedded XML output option. Includes support for both virtual fields and unlimited-tier hierarchies.
Control data access on a "need to know" basis and monitor facility and infrastructure status across geographic or departmental boundarie
Extend access to view analysis reports to non-ARCHIBUS users

Unlimited-Tier Hierarchy:
Establish any number of flexible data hierarchy levels, limited only by your database server.
Organizations with deep and/or matrix organizational hierarchies can now model their data without modifying the ARCHIBUS standard schema
Easily model complex relationships such as buildings, systems, and sub-systems or equipment, components, and sub-components

Tree control interface for Unlimited-Tier Hierarchy:
A dynamic, drag and drop, tree-control interface, provides a unified method to view and manipulate hierarchical data.
Easy-to-use tree control interface enables users to visualize and manipulate complex data hierarchies in one window
Intuitive drag-and-drop functionality lets users dynamically re-organize entire trees and sub-trees of data "on the fly" while retaining all existing ARCHIBUS security functionality

Account table with Unlimited-Tier Hierarchy:
Account Codes in ARCHIBUS can now use the Unlimited-Tier Hierarchy feature to handle complex accounting requirements.
New unlimited-tier account code table enables cost data roll-ups by multiple criteria at any level

"Dashboard-style" Enhanced Dynamic View Analysis reports :
Embed the Enhanced Dynamic View Analysis functionality within your own programs and scripts (such as a BasicScript view or Navigator action).
Create dashboard-style reports that run inside an embedded browser window
Review large amounts of analytical data at a high level to get a quick “snapshot” vie, then drill-down to more detailed information as needed

Customizable XSL stylesheets for Enhanced Dynamic View Analysis :
Enhanced Dynamic View Analysis to XML uses a WC3 compliant XSL stylesheet to format output.
Change the “look and feel” of view analysis reports to suit organizational preferences and requirements
W3C compliant XSL stylesheet ensures consistent, cross-platform formatting of reports
