The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia initially invested in a CAFM system to help expedite moves. The FM staff had been relying on a manual count system and had been producing its reports in a word processing program. Since the installation of the ARCHIBUS system, comparisons of inventories (pre-and post-moves) are quickly and easily accomplished.
The Corporation's Facilities Managers have been able to address other areas of intelligent building operations such as security systems and energy management. The CAFM administrators customized the databases in ARCHIBUS to interface with these other systems. They are also employing the system to track furniture and equipment.
