City of Hamilton's Chris Phinney Wins ARCHIBUS Distinguished User Award of Excellence for Facilities Management Leadership in Canada

Integrated Facilities Management Solution Enhances Collaboration and Business Efficiency, Reduces Costs

Chris Phinney, Integrated Workplace Management Development Analyst for the City of Hamilton, Ontario, has won the Distinguished User Award of Excellence for his expanding implementation of software from ARCHIBUS to reduce costs and increase business process efficiency. For the past 6 years, Mr. Phinney has provided leadership and support ensuring sustained operational success at the City of Hamilton by pursuing new opportunities to increase adoption of ARCHIBUS throughout city government. He has played a key role in demonstrating the ARCHIBUS technology to many regional organizations. He has also promoted the concepts of an integrated solution and collaboration. In addition, Mr. Phinney is outspoken in his promotion of ARCHIBUS to other City of Hamilton departments, support services and potential users across Canada. 

At least three other divisions are currently evaluating the use of ARCHIBUS. 

Mr. Phinney is also the current leader of the Southern Ontario ARCHIBUS Users' Group and has been a tireless advocate for the User Community, setting up both meetings and a portal for user collaboration. He has established a reputation for always being willing to share his technology expertise by speaking with other established users and potential users alike.

The award was announced at the recent 16th annual International ARCHIBUS Users’ Conference, held at Walt Disney World’s Swan Hotel in Orlando, Florida. The event is attended by hundreds of executives from corporations, governments, healthcare organizations, educational institutions and others to exchange ideas on more efficient management practices that reduce overall cost of occupancy, lower energy use, and improve environmental sustainability.
