Job Title: Sales Engineer

Job Description:
The Sales Engineer position is a business and technical position that supports the ARCHIBUS sales staff, Business Partner community, customers, and prospects. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter interested in current software solutions for real estate and facility management, and in the workings of global organizations.

The primary role of the Sales Engineer is to develop and deliver standard presentations about the ARCHIBUS product, its applications, and relevant examples of success. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for preparing sales presentations and recorded files for use by our channel partners and visitors to the corporate Website, www.archibus.com. He/she will also develop sales-related training materials and maintain a dataset that is used during demonstrations by Sales Engineer and Business Partners. This development and database work will quickly give the Sales Engineer an in-depth view of all aspects of the ARCHIBUS software.

The Sales Engineer will be expected to attend the annual International ARCHIBUS Users’ Conference, selected trade shows, users’ group and customer-focused presentations in order to provide demonstrations, answer questions about the product, and interact with current and potential customers.

As an ARCHIBUS Sales Engineer, you will consistently demonstrate your ability to deal with clients and partners, at a business-to-business level, identifying and providing solutions that fulfill the business needs of our clients. Your responsibilities will include:

Sales Support:

  • Work in conjunction with Business Development to understand the client’s needs and where ARCHIBUS software can provide industry leading solutions.
  • Assist in coordinating/scheduling sales events, including: conference calls, WebEx demonstrations, or instructive webinars.
  • Maintain calendar of events, including: general project activities, sales & marketing activities, and special industry campaigns.
  • Adhere to the utmost business ethics ensuring ARCHIBUS maintains its respected image.
  • Work within a team environment for the development and delivery of effective client solutions.
  • Develop strong interpersonal relationships, with the ARCHIBUS Sales Team, ARCHIBUS Partners, customers & technology suppliers to help foster a community environment.

Tactical Areas:

  • Apply consultative skills and product knowledge to suggest appropriate solution
  • Assist in the development of client proposals related to ARCHIBUS solution implementations and potential future needs.
  • Perform pre-qualification sales calls to various regions and vertical markets, assisting in lead generation activities.
  • Interface, as necessary, with Professional Services teams for client deployments by providing necessary technical and administrative support.
  • Use client-facing experience to help shape the future needs and requirements of ARCHIBUS software solution.

Requirements:
The successful candidate must:

  • Be a mature professional, confident in your ability to deal with all levels in major corporate accounts, from executives to end-users. Excel in the area of presentation delivery to customers and partners, with strong communication skills.
  • Enjoy working with others in a team environment as well as independently, to solve problems and exceed expectations.
  • Be able to convey technical details and operations to non-technical individuals or groups.
  • Be an effective problem-solver with a “get-it-done” attitude and strong self-motivation to exceed customer requirements.
  • Possess superior organizational/time management skills and a “make-it-happen” attitude.
  • Be curious about how the technology operates in order to more effectively demonstrate its usefulness in response to the customer’s needs.
  • Be interested in the Real Estate and Facility Management industry and how to help organizations within various industries operate more efficiently and effectively.
  • Have a strong interest in technology and its various applications within the corporate environment.
  • Be willing to travel 10-40% of the time.
  • Have baseline knowledge of database systems.

Experience:
Three (3) or more years of experience in an enterprise solutions environment with exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or JAVA/J2EE Web-based and database technologies. Preference for those with experience working within a Facility Management, CMMS, Space Planning, Space Management, Move Management, Move Coordination, Construction/Project Management, CAD, Architecture, Corporate Real Estate, or Corporate Client Services environment. An understanding of business processes and alignment with Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) solutions or Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems is a plus. Experience working within a software design environment or within a sales capacity will be helpful but is not required.

Education:
B.S. degree, or equivalent experience
