Senior Application Engineer (Professional Services)
Job Description:
The Senior Application Engineer (Senior AE) is a technical, customer-facing position involved with the full lifecycle of customer projects, including: design, database and application development, data migration and integration of the ARCHIBUS product suite. This role requires customer focus, a deep understanding of the product, excellent written and verbal communication skills and an outstanding level of technical proficiency.
The primary role of the Senior AE is to participate as one of the lead developers in customer projects working with customer and internal ARCHIBUS team members. The Senior AE will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying the project deliverables for the customer. In addition, the Senior AE may be required to provide training on the project deliverables and ARCHIBUS applications and technologies for the customer project team.
Other responsibilities include:
- Handling escalations from customer service, professional service, or sales support
- Supporting high-availability production servers
- Writing White Papers and Application Notes for internal and external audiences
- Creating training materials on new technical features
- Training sales engineers, system integration partners, customer service staff, end-users on the software
Essential requirements include: B.S. in Computer Science; Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; Team-oriented attitude; 4+ years of professional experience; Some travel required.
Specific essential technical skills are:
- Professional-grade Java, CSS, XSL, and .JS experience
- Advanced SQL code-writing experience in both Oracle and SQL Server
- Business process modeling skills
- Data modeling skills
- Experience writing functional and technical specifications
- Consulting experience, especially in CRM, ERP or Corporate Real Estate automation
- Experience integrating with Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft, and/or SAP databases
- Experience with server-side Java
- Experience with .Net programming
- Geospatial/ESRI experience
- Experience with Microsoft Project Management or similar project management tools
- PMI certified a plus
- Proactive and self-motivated without the need to be managed closely on a daily basis
- Willingness to take on new challenges
- Able to provide strong problem-solving skills
- Desire to mentor junior team members
