Application Engineer (Client Services)
Job Description:
The Application Engineer (AE) is a technical, customer-facing position supporting the full lifecycle of customer projects, implementing and using the entire ARCHIBUS product suite. This role requires customer focus, a deep understanding of the product, excellent written and verbal communication skills and an outstanding level of technical proficiency.
The AE will be responsible for developing, testing, documenting and communicating solutions to the customer. In addition, the AE may be required to provide training and webinars to internal and external team members and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Providing support to Professional Services on consulting engagements
- Analyzing client needs and designing data structures and methods, as required
- Defining database table structures, relationships, and schema
- Modifying client application user interfaces (HTML, XML, JavaScript and Java)
- Testing final software
- Creating user documentation
- Writing FAQs, White Papers and Application Notes for internal and external audiences
Requirements:
This position requires as B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering and/or 1 - 3 years of equivalent professional experience. Candidate must be a team player.
Specific essential technical skills are:
- Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Strong technical background and problem-solving skills
- Web application experience (HTML, Java Script, SQL)
- Familiarity with relational database concepts and systems
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Experience with Eclipse, Ant or JUnit
- Previous Experience in Facility Management, Healthcare, or Higher Education industries
- Experience with Web services, SOAP or SOA
- Experience with server-side Java
- Experience with .Net programming
- Geospatial/ESRI experience
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Willingness to take on new challenges
- Able to provide strong problem-solving skills
